Over the last several months, national and industry magazines have included an award-winning, independent wealth management and Registered Investment Advisory company on many lists of the best financial advisors and fastest-growing businesses.
CEO James Bogart was ranked #11 overall in the state of Virginia on Barron’s list of America’s Top 1,200 Financial Advisors and Best-In-State Wealth Advisors for 2023. According to Forbes, Bogart was ranked #5 overall in the state of Virginia and featured as a 2023 Best-In-State Wealth Advisor. Additionally, the company was listed as one of USA Today’s Best Financial Advisory Firms of 2023 and was ranked #105 in the Mid-Atlantic area of 2023 Inc. Regionals Fastest-Growing Companies. Finally, Chief Investment Officer Aleksandr Spencer, who was selected CIO of the Year, was recognized by Wealth Solutions Report as one of the Top Black Industry Leaders of 2023 in their Pathfinder Awards for Black History Month.
James Bogart, President and CEO of Bogart Wealth, stated, “We are beyond honored to be featured in all of these rankings to get these accolades from such esteemed media sites. “I’m really pleased of our team since we’ve seen quick growth and significant recognition this year. These accolades would not be achievable without them. One of the few advisor rankings with an emphasis on quality, including in-person and online surveys and interviews with advisers, Forbes’ rankings were created by SHOOK Research. Rankings are based on an algorithm that takes into account both quantitative factors like income generated and assets under management as well as qualitative factors like best practices, quality of service, investment methods, industry expertise, and compliance records.

The most successful advisers in the country—roughly 6,000 of them—provided data for the Barron’s rankings. The firm’s income, assets under management, regulatory history, practice standards, and charitable efforts are all taken into account when determining the rankings. Because not all advisers have audited outcomes and because performance numbers are often determined more by customers’ risk tolerance than by an advisor’s investment selection skills, investment performance isn’t an explicit component. The three main types of calculations used in the Barron’s rankings algorithm are: 1. Assets; 2. Income; and 3. Practice quality.
