J&K: Real Kashmir FC lifts Anantnag Knockout Football Tournament trophy

In the final match of the ‘Anantnag Champions Knockout Football Tournament 2020’, Real Kashmir FC lifted the winning trophy after defeating Solina FC by 2:1 at the Anantnag Sports Stadium located in Indian union territory of Jammu and Kashmir.
In the high voltage game, both the teams played aggressively for the title while the fans thronged the venue in huge numbers. As the match started, forwards of both the teams started attacking other goalposts to seize an early initiative. However, defense lines of both the teams ensured that no damage was done. Real Kashmir FC maintained their reputation of attacking football with Ateeb and Ibrahim going close in the early exchanges. The team was finally rewarded when Ibrahim Rasheed scored with a delightful finish on a Corner kick.
Ateeb was the second player who showed his skills and doubled the lead for his team.
The first half ended with 2:0. The second half also started with the two teams making all-out efforts to score. The intense battle continued for most part of the second half. As Solina Sports FC made more attacks on the opposite goalpost, they were successful in scoring their first goal in the 53rd minute of the play through Waris.
The Solina FC players tried their best to score a level, but strong defense lines of RKFC thwarted all their attempts.
Jammu and Kashmir Football Association (JKFA) congratulated the RKFC team and management for their win and hoped that they will carry on with the momentum.
The Deputy Commissioner of Anantnag, K.K. Sidha was the Chief Guest and Hilal Ahmad Shah, Chairman of Municipal Council, Anantnag was the guest of honor.
Other dignitaries who were present on the occasion were Fayaz Ahmad Sofi (President DFA Srinagar), Abdul Majeed Kakroo (Ex. Indian National Team Captain), Bilal Punjabi, Assistant General Secretary, JKFA, and Shafeeq Ahmad, JKFA Member.
The tournament was organized by District Football Association, Anantnag under the aegis of Jammu and Kashmir Football Association in which 20 teams participated.
